The cooperative also has started a pro-poor social service scheme known as Mangal Panthi to better assist the very poor and vulnerable group of people. This scheme-"A social Security Scheme designed to provide assistance of Rs.1000/- to the kith and Kin of the poorest member at her untimely demise in a group". Altogether 193 families have been covered and a sum of rupees 1,93,000/- has been given to them through this scheme.In this scheme a sum of rupees 27,000.00 has been given to members for the finance year 2015-16. In addition to that SMSSL also took up the economic rehabilitation of beggars-cured lepers, linkage services like forwarding members name to CMC for coverage under PDS and other benefits, compensation to poor families for obtaining death and legal heir certificate for death of prime bread earner.
