Empowering women both socially and financially is aimed at large by SMSSL from its inception. Organized together they can take up many social as well as economic issues for their own development. Having analyzed the situation of poor women in its operational area SMSSL through SHGs oriented them on leadership and empowerment and strive to solve the issues faced by women through women solidarity. Along with providing trainings on leadership, legal aid, financial literacy, enterprise promotion etc to women members SMSSL also took up anti-dowry, anti-girl child foeticide etc during the year. In order to sensitize people on girl child & women and their potential contribution for society, a series of orientation camps and campaigning were undertaken during the year by the cooperative. SMSSL celebrated the Women’s Day and also organized rallies with hundreds and thousands of members, demonstrating women empowerment. The local community appreciated the activities of the organization very much.
